A letter to one of our caregivers: Have a blessed day Michelle…. because I know you are a blessing to your clients. Did I tell you Faye Ilima’s daughter Kaili said you will always be special to the family. She said you were such a blessing. Tuck those words away in your heart and bring them out when you need encouragement.

Dear Sue and Beverly
Thank you so much for being so responsive and kind and quickly fulfilling my Mom’s need as they arose. We are so lucky we were able to work with you and your team. It made a great difference for her.
Thank you,

Aloha,
I just wanted to thank you, Care Options, Inc. for all the kindness and compassion you and your staff extended to Tom while he was able to be home. Especially on the last few days he was at his apartment. Please thank Josh and Naleen for us.

Aloha,
My name is Hana, and I live on Maui. I had a relatively full life, with full-time job, a family and other outside activities. My life took a sudden turn several months ago when I was suddenly thrust into position of having to take care of an elderly uncle. It took a while , but I was able to relocate him for living alone in Lahaina to an Assisted Living Facility in Kahului. My uncle was adjusting relatively well when he fell, broke his arm, and ended up in the hospital. After a brief stay there I was told that he could return to live at the assisted living facility only if I could arrange for 24-hour companion care, as he was very weak and still unsteady on his feet, and the risk of another fall was great. In addition, he was exhibiting more and more signs of dementia so they didn’t want him to be alone.
It’s not something anyone can be prepared for . Within the span of a week I went from having my uncle living moderately independently to having to provide for all his needs. The social workers at the hospital and the nurse at the assisted living facility guided me to the resources they were familiar with. One of them mentioned Care Options, Inc., an agency that had just given a presentation and were opening on Maui for business. I immediately gave them a call, and within a day they had found someone to meet my needs. In another day I had met with them, their prospective care provider met with my uncle and we began the following day.
I hired them to provide companion care for him every night, from 7pm to 7am. The person they provided has been wonderful with him. She is patient, optimistic, and genuinely cares about and addresses his needs. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Care Options, Inc. and the caregiver.
Thank you!
~ Hana
One of our members has had some difficulties recently due to a problem with her neighbor and has lost her caregivers for safety concerns. When I went to see her last week she told me that her Nurse, Linda, has helped her with errands, shopping, cleaning, whatever it was that she needed at the time. I just wanted to share this with you and say THANK YOU! So often I see caregivers that will only follow the letter of the law and do the bare minimum.
Please tell Linda Thank you for her excellent care of my member and for doing whatever it takes to meet her needs. She is much appreciated!
